Inspiration
Devizes Treasures ~ There are so many hidden and well known gems in the historic market town of Devizes in Wiltshire. This linocut print is a bit of a homage to the place I call home, can you spot your favourite landmarks? The Devizes 'Millennium' White Horse is the eighth and latest major white horse hill figure cut in Wiltshire to be seen today, and it's the only horse that faces to look to the right! Maybe you'll have to go looking about town for some of the beautiful motifs that are scattered all around you. They each tell a unique story and mark the town's place in history, this is how the print's design was inspired. The Chequers in Devizes, which was my starting point and the castle, as it was on the boundaries of the Rowde, Bishops Cannings and Potterne, it soon became known as (the castle at the boundaries), hence the name Devizes . This print has been a joy to create and I know you will treasure it too!

This is an original linocut print with chine collé, developed from a hand-drawn design, hand-carved and printed on my press in my studio in Wiltshire. Each Devizes Treasures linocut print is part of an Open Varied Edition (OVE) and is totally unique. Each print is individually hand signed. Please note this is an original artwork not a digital reproduction. Printed on Zerkall 'Smooth' Printmaking Paper. All prints are sold unframed and unmounted.
